Textbook Rental Agreement
A currently enrolled SOU student with an SOU ID can rent textbooks from the SOU Bookstore.
Rentals are due the Friday of finals week each term, no exceptions. This
includes rental returns shipped to the store via any carrier. It is the
student’s responsibility to return rental books in saleable condition by the
due date. The Bookstore is not responsible for reminding students of rental due
dates. The replacement cost of the book will be
charged to the student’s account if the book is not returned on time. This
includes lost, stolen or damaged books. Rental refund period and policies are the same as textbook purchases.
Student Account Charges
Current SOU students may charge textbooks up to $500.00 to their SOU student
account each term through the first Friday of classes (excluding summer term). Students can pre-order textbooks online with the SOU Bookstore and charge to their SOU account as soon as they
register for classes. Students can
charge to their SOU account in the store once current term textbooks are available. Students are responsible for paying all charges on their SOU account and
must pay off their textbook charges for the current term prior to charging
books for the next term. During textbook sell-back, students with unpaid textbook balances will
receive a credit to their SOU account instead of cash.
A $6.00 processing fee will be added to web orders picked up
in the SOU Bookstore.
There is a $10.00 flat rate shipping charge for most text and merchandise
shipments. Merchandise that requires additional shipping will be noted on
the website. Shipping charges for Alaska, Hawaii, International and Specialty Orders are
determined on an individual basis. The Bookstore will contact you for
shipping approval before processing your order.
